In order to do this, we need to use Information Communication Technologies (ICT’s) in and across all Key Learning Areas (KLA’s) within everyday classroom situations. It is through this that we can encourage active learning, offer supportive environments, engage students in classroom tasks, enhance students learning needs and assist in the development of becoming a lifelong learner.
Personally, I believe I have exceptional Information technology competence as I have developed many ICT based learning experiences. Comments supporting this include
‘Great use of ICTs, students remained engaged and focused on the task at hand’ (Shanks, Personal communications, 2010).
‘Jennah integrates the use of ICTs well into her lesson designs to captivate and enhance the learning of the students’ (Lamb, Personal Communications, 2011).
‘She has also used ICTs to an excellent standard to enhance her learning experiences and ensure students are completing their assessment using multi-modal criteria’ (Roberts, Personal Communications, 2011).
Throughout my university studies I have also produced several assignments incorporating ICTs including Blogs, PowerPoint presentations, videos (using movie maker), Voki’s’ and photo stories (using digital cameras) to name a few. Here are a few examples;
Video I created for one of my university courses.....
My lecturer commented that the above video demonstrated that I was highly successful at using Movie Maker, am familiar with iTunes and created a piece that the audience can immerse themselves in (Donahue, 2010).
Voki I created....

Photo Story I created for Science Curriculum and Pedagogy course....
(Please Note my fellow peers also assisted in the creation)
Feedback from my lecturer included ' Love the photo story, it seems as though you had an enjoyable experience while covering the key concepts related to the assessment task. Fantastic Job' (Bulman, Personal Communications, 2011)
